Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 18, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how ClipForge handles information through this website, the ClipForge desktop application, connected services, and support. ClipForge is operated by the ClipForge team. Contact us at clipforge@startkit.tech.

The ClipForge Website

This website does not provide user accounts, analytics, advertising trackers, or contact forms. Our web server may process standard request information, such as IP address, requested URL, browser type, timestamps, and error details, to deliver and secure the site. We use that information for operations, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.

If you select an email link, your email provider sends the message you choose to write. We receive the sender address, message, and any attachments you include.

The ClipForge Desktop Application

ClipForge is local-first. You choose a workspace on your computer. The application stores project source media, transcripts, edit decisions, thumbnails, rendered clips, publishing manifests, job history, and logs in that workspace. Application settings and a project index are stored in your operating system’s application-data location.

ClipForge does not receive a copy of local project data merely because you use the desktop application. Data leaves your computer when you choose a feature that needs a connected service.

Information Used for Connected Services

The exact information depends on the services you configure and the action you request.

TikTok

When you connect TikTok, ClipForge may process:

ClipForge uses this information to identify the connected account, display available posting controls, send the post you approved, report its status, secure the connection, and troubleshoot a request. TikTok processes the authorization and publishing request under its own terms and privacy policy.

YouTube

When you configure YouTube publishing, ClipForge may process:

ClipForge uses this information only to authenticate the requested upload, send the selected video and metadata, and record the result in your local project. YouTube and Google process the authorization and upload under their own terms and privacy policies.

Typefully

When you configure Typefully publishing, ClipForge may process:

ClipForge uses this information to upload the selected media and create or schedule a Typefully draft for the configured social set. Typefully and the social networks selected there process the draft under their own terms and privacy policies.

Transcription and highlight providers

If you configure an external transcription or AI provider, ClipForge sends the media, audio, transcript, or instructions needed for the feature you start. The provider processes that information under its own terms and privacy policy. You can use ClipForge without configuring every optional provider.

Credentials

ClipForge stores configured API keys and platform credentials using the secure credential storage provided by your operating system. It does not write these secrets into project databases, project manifests, or ordinary application logs. ClipForge uses a credential only for the service and action you configured.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

Sharing

We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. We disclose information only:

Connected services receive only the information needed for the action you approved. Their independent policies govern their processing after they receive it.

Retention

Your Choices and Rights

You can inspect and delete local project files, clear saved credentials, revoke connected services, and uninstall ClipForge. Revoking a service stops future access but does not delete content already published to that service.

See Data Deletion for step-by-step instructions. You may also email clipforge@startkit.tech to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information held in support records. We may ask for enough information to verify the request. Applicable law may provide additional rights or require limited record retention.

Security

ClipForge limits network transfers to features you start, uses encrypted HTTPS connections for supported external services, and stores configured secrets through operating-system secure storage. No security method is perfect. Keep your operating system and ClipForge installation current, protect your computer account, and do not share credentials or sensitive logs.

Children

ClipForge is not directed to children under 13 or the higher minimum age required in their country. Do not use ClipForge to connect a platform account if you are not old enough to use that platform.

International Processing

Connected services and operational providers may process information in countries other than your own. Their locations and safeguards are described in their policies. Choose which optional providers to configure before sending project data to them.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when the product, providers, or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised policy here and change the “Last updated” date.
