Terms of Service

Last updated: July 18, 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of the ClipForge website and desktop application. ClipForge is operated by the ClipForge team. By using ClipForge, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Eligibility and Accounts

You must be legally able to agree to these terms and meet the minimum age for every platform you connect. You may connect only accounts you own or are authorized to manage. You are responsible for activity performed through your ClipForge installation and connected accounts.

ClipForge may require credentials for optional services. Keep those credentials confidential and revoke them promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

The ClipForge Service

ClipForge is a local-first desktop workspace for preparing short-form video. It can organize projects, import media, work with transcripts, create and edit clip candidates, render vertical outputs, and send selected outputs to configured publishing services.

Features can depend on your computer, operating system, third-party credentials, media format, network connection, and the availability and rules of connected services.

Your Content

You retain ownership of content you provide to ClipForge. You grant ClipForge only the limited permission needed to process that content on your computer and send it to a service when you request that action.

You are responsible for ensuring that you own or have permission to use, edit, and publish the source media, music, images, names, likenesses, captions, and other material in your project. ClipForge does not grant rights to third-party content.

Publishing and Connected Services

Before publishing, review the selected account, media, caption, audience, interactions, commercial-content disclosure, and other settings. You are responsible for the final post and for complying with the destination’s terms, community rules, advertising policies, music rules, and intellectual-property requirements.

TikTok, YouTube, Typefully, OpenAI, and other connected providers are independent services. They control their accounts, authorization, moderation, processing, availability, and published content. ClipForge cannot guarantee that a provider will accept, process, display, or retain a submission.

Acceptable Use

You must not use ClipForge to:

We may refuse support or installer access, or end access to services we control, when use creates legal, security, platform-compliance, or abuse risk.

Local Data and Backups

You control the local workspace and are responsible for protecting and backing it up. Removing a project or uninstalling ClipForge may permanently delete data depending on your operating system and backup configuration. Follow the data deletion instructions when you want to remove local and connected-service data.

Updates and Availability

We may release fixes, change features, or stop supporting older versions to maintain security, compatibility, or platform compliance. Connected providers may change or withdraw their interfaces without notice. Keep ClipForge current when an update is required for safe or compatible operation.

We do not promise uninterrupted operation. Rendering and publishing can fail because of local files, storage, credentials, networks, provider limits, moderation, outages, or incompatible changes.

Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, ClipForge is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, ClipForge and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost content, revenue, profits, opportunities, goodwill, or data arising from use of the service or a connected provider. Our total liability for a claim will not exceed the amount you paid ClipForge for the service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms when the product, providers, or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised terms here and change the “Last updated” date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms where permitted by law.
